Content Warning

Human rights are the main subject matter of this blog. Hence, many stories and comments contain graphic descriptions of human rights violations. Human rights violations often entail atrocities, cruelty and violence, but not always or necessarily. Nevertheless, readers of this blog are warned that they may stumble upon descriptions and images containing violence and cruelty. However, I ask for your understanding since it is impossible to deal with the subject of human rights without describing and showing violence and cruelty. Shocking stories or images are published here not to shock or because of sensationalism. My motivations are strictly idealistic and educational.

Rules of Engagement: On Commenting:

Your comments are treasured therefore, every blog post on this blog has a comment box that you can use to share your point of view with the author and the blog readers.

  1. Authorship: The blog owner, administrator, contributor, editor, and/or author acknowledge that all comments submitted are the views of their author and, expect readers to appreciate that posting of them does not imply agreement with their contents.
  2. Privacy: A person commenting may choose to use either their actual name or an alias. Valid email addresses are required but will not be posted and/or disclosed to others. Valid URLs to active blogs and/or websites belonging to the commenter are also required and the username (real name or alias) will be linked to them. (See 5. for the exceptions.)
  3. Moderation: To make sure that nothing distasteful such as, but not limited to, spam is automatically posted to the blog, all comments are moderated, except for those of you who have already commented once here and have been approved.
  4. Link limit: This blog will automatically hold any blog comment with more than two links in the moderation queue, which may delay your comment from appearing. Any blog comment with more than two links may be marked as comment spam and deleted. All links will be investigated prior to approval and posting of any comment.
  5. Commercial links, post links, signature links, etc. : Including a link to your “personal” ie.  non-commercial  blog and/or website is acceptable (all usernames are linked) but all links are subject to review and may be removed prior to posting.  Provided the bloggers commenting are actually adding something to the discussion I do not remove their links. However, if I believe that they are just link dropping to  divert readers to their own blog post(s) or business site, and/or to game search engine results then I do not feel the same way. I will delete such links with impunity.  Example:  Anchor text – If  a keyword is entered into the name field rather than a name I will either break the link and post the comment or I will delete the comment entirely and mark the comment as  spam.  If I continue to  receive  more of the same  pseudo comments, pingbacks and/or trackbacks  from same source then I comment blacklist and feed all associated email addresses, website and blog URLs, personal names, IP addresses and any other data I locate on the internet about  the offender and associated sites into both the Akismet spam filter.
  6. Comments on old posts: There is no expiry for comment boxes on old posts. So, you are free to comment on the pieces that you like keeping it within the points, 1. to 5.
  7. What To Do If Your Comment Does Not Appear: If you leave a comment on this blog that does not appear within a reasonable time period, and you know that it does not violate these Comment Policies, then use a comment box on my most recent post to make contact.
  8. Comment editing: If you wish to correct typos or spelling errors in a comment submitted for posting and contact the blogger using the Contact form below, they will be edited accordingly. All other editing requests will be dealt with on a one-by-one basis.
  9. Personal attacks: Comments that stray from addressing the published topic and venture into the inflammatory and/or defamatory realm will not be posted.
  10. All Rights Reserved: The blog owner, administrator, contributor, editor, and/or author reserve the right to edit, delete, move, or mark as spam any and all comments reserves all rights of refusal and deletion of any and all trackbacks.. They also reserve the right to block access to any individual or group from commenting or from the entire blog.

Drop by my “eclectic” blog (“Reflections From a Cloudy Mirror”) any time. . .it’s like a box of chocolates – you never know what you’re gonna get. Wait, no – that’s life, isn’t it? Have I heard that before? But, it couldn’t be that’s life, because that’s what all the people say – you’re ridin’ high in April, shot down in May. . .I’ve heard that before too, I think. . .hmmm. . .who am I? Where am I? Oh yeah – Heart.

    Thanks again – I’ll leave off the smiley. . .no, I won’t. :-D

Yes, I will, scratch that smiley, by all means!

Thank you for your comment on the Prague essay and for reading Blogpourri. Hope to get back to blogging soon. In the meantime, best wishes for your writing. Take care.

    • Heart November 21, 2010 at 12:34 am #

Hi Sujatha! Thanks for stopping by :) I thoroughly enjoyed your Prague pictures and your personal blog.. But, by the time I was ready to leave a lengthy comment on one of the posts about your childhood, I realised it was just for an inner circle! It is alright, as I understand you are on a break, hope to read more and hopefully I will get a chance to leave some feedback..
      Thanks for your wishes!

It’s nice to meet yet another humble explorer. I am especially intrigued by Literary Social Vigilante and Aspiring Stand-up Comedian. Please tell me more.

    • Heart December 19, 2010 at 6:57 pm #

A fellow blogger recently asked me what I was trying to achieve by writing.. :) I thought about it and came up with this idea of adding the Vigilante phrase, because I wondered if the bottom line of what I wanted to say was not so in the face for my reader to see?! And standup?, you will have to wait to see.. Or I will have to direct to a post that says, How.To.Write(NOT)..
Thanks for visiting Charles, such a pleasure to see your comments here!!

(P.S. did Santa bring your son that left-handed guitar?)

    • Heart December 29, 2010 at 11:22 pm #

Santa a.k.a. dad-in-shining-armor had to shop around for Transformers, Sponge bobs, Bakugans – to finally come up with something the boy will like and thanks to that, I am suffering with what I will call a post-concussion state of boys and their toys.. :(
And now, I know!! You got one of those kind for yourself!! Ha ha..
Thanks Mojo, you remember my little lefty fella! :D

      • Mr. Mojo Risin December 30, 2010 at 1:38 am #

Kids can be picky when it comes to toys, I remember I was a brat every now and then. I just hope he gave you a cheery smile and hug for all the gifts :).

I pay attention to details, makes the conversations that much better :).

Thanks Jamie, for me it might just mean the name and a few words, but you are great example to follow! Thanks for the wishes..
      Much adoration!

  28. pochp March 6, 2011 at 5:15 am #

Hi Heart! I was so glad you’re back but there was no posts in your site. I tried 3 ways but with same result. I hope you find out why.

    • Heart March 6, 2011 at 11:25 am #

Poch, thanks so much for alerting me! I had no idea, I have subscribed to my own blog, but did not click on the link my email to make sure :) Initially, I had this post for 3 days and had “Privately” published it while I was working on the draft form. So, after I was done with it, I updated the status to “Public” and published. It messed up the short link – where it was showing a March 2nd version and this new short link had a March 6th Public post link.
I know I won’t be doing this experiment ever again.. :))
      See you around soon!
      Take care,
      Rachana.
